Wildlife conservation — public zoo and aquarium association website

Headless CMS · Association

EAZA Public Website

Production of a public-facing website for a European zoo and aquarium association — Gatsby front end, Strapi CMS, and Tailwind CSS with a REST API content layer.

Engagement: Aug 2023 – Dec 2025

Challenge

The client needed a modern public website backed by a headless CMS so editorial teams could publish content without developer involvement, while keeping performance and SEO strong across a large, content-heavy site.

Approach

We scoped the build around Gatsby for static generation, Strapi as the content API, and Tailwind for a consistent design system. Content models were structured for long-term editorial use, with clear separation between public pages and CMS-managed assets.

Solution

Delivered a production Gatsby + Strapi stack with Tailwind styling, REST-driven page generation, and a workflow the client team could run independently. The engagement ran as a long-term Upwork contract with ongoing iteration through launch and beyond.

Outcomes

  • 5.0 Upwork client rating
  • 2+ year engagement (Aug 2023 – Dec 2025)
  • Headless CMS editorial workflow in production
  • Gatsby + Strapi + Tailwind stack shipped to spec

Great dev to cooperate with. Good communication skills.
